The Georgetown Police Department has released its monthly statistics for September 2024, showing several areas of increase compared to the previous year. The department reported a total of 982 traffic stops, which is a 44% increase from September 2023, when there were 680 stops.

Traffic crashes also rose, with 283 incidents recorded in September 2024, representing a 9% increase from the 260 crashes reported in September 2023. However, the number of DUI/DWI arrests decreased to 17, down 32% from 25 in the same month last year.

Domestic disturbance calls rose by 10%, with 23 incidents reported this September compared to 21 in September 2023. Mental health-related calls saw a significant increase of 88%, with 154 calls recorded, up from 82 last year.

The department reported 22 cases of vehicle burglary in September 2024, a 22% increase from the 18 cases noted in September 2023. Arrests increased slightly to 108, a 1% rise from last year's total of 107.

The total number of calls for service in September 2024 reached 6,218, marking a 12% increase from the 5,566 calls documented in September 2023.
