Wear Purple Day for Domestic Violence Awareness

October is recognized as Domestic Violence Awareness Month. The Intimate Partner Violence Program at the Washington DC VA Medical Center is hosting an event called "Wear Purple Day" on October 17, 2024. Participants are encouraged to wear purple to raise awareness about domestic violence. A group photo will be taken at 12 p.m. in the Atrium of the medical center.

For veterans affected by domestic violence, support is available through the National Domestic Violence Hotline. Individuals can reach out by calling 1-800-799-SAFE (7233), texting "START" to 88788, or chatting online at https://www.thehotline.org.
