The US National Weather Service in Philadelphia reported record low temperatures on September 9th in various locations. Here are the observed low temperatures compared to the record coldest low temperatures for that date:

- Allentown: Observed low of 44°F, record low of 42°F in 1986

- AC Airport: Observed low of 45°F, record low of 43°F in 1986

- AC Marina: Observed low of 58°F, record low of 49°F in 1914

- Georgetown: Observed low of 46°F, record low of 43°F in 1986

- Mount Pocono: Observed low of 42°F, record low of 31°F in 1986

- Philadelphia: Observed low of 54°F, record low of 49°F in 1883 and 1956

- Reading: Observed low of 47°F, record low of 42°F in 1986

- Trenton: Observed low of 45°F, record low of 42°F in 1986

- Wilmington: Observed low of 48°F, record low of 46°F in 1986

Some unofficial weather stations in eastern PA and portions of NJ reported lows in the upper 30s, which is unusual for early September.
